I’ve had some good supervisors, but I’ve also had my share that may have been a result of this strategy.
The sabotage manual is designed to mimic behaviors others do naturally, but to an exaggerated extent.
Lots of people get promoted due to their relationships with their leaders, but it’s your relationships with your peers that actually makes you qualified. Since the filter doesn’t match the optimal outcome, you get suboptimal results. So, it’s a mostly self-selecting incompetence rather than malice (in most cases).
