Never forget than David Benioff and D B Weiss hurried the show to completion so they could get out of their contracts so they could produce a Star Wars trilogy promised to them by Kathleen Kennedy that ultimately got cancelled.

I like to think it was cancelled BECAUSE of them hurrying up the final season of GoT. Not sure if we ever got confirmation of that, but it definitely seems the most likely to me.

I’m just glad we weren’t subjected to it. There’s very little Star Wars that I’ve skipped completely. I would have ended watching it against my better judgement.

          Wow…

Other than Andor there isn’t any Disney’s Star Wars that is worth finishing.

I’m on the other side. There is a lot to offer (comics, novels, etc.).

After the og trilogy was done there is very little to give a shit about on the big screen.

Watch a supercut of the fight scenes, easily the best ones in the series (as a whole, I shit you not). It was a disconnect between awesome action and shitty story writing.

The problem with your statement is that you are glossing over that GOT was having problems long before S8. GOT was having problems even before it ran out of books to be based on.

      The show peaked in S3.

S4 was very much like a great party that is going on too long. The cracks were starting to show and really the only thing that saved the entire season was the Red Viper. Arya’s storyline got so much screen time and went in circles.

Season 5 was utter dogshit. The whole season was a painful boring slog and only the 6 minute battle of Hardhome is worth watching.

The show turned itself around in S6. If E1S6 wasn’t very good I was going to quit watching the show.

S7 was very good though the season had some problems. Mostly associated with scale and travel.

The issue with S8 are well documented though I like a lot of that season but completely agree with those that say the finale was a dud.

It’s 2026, seven years after Game of Thrones went off the air, and George R R Martin still hasn’t finished Winds of Winter.

I was recently in hospital so I did a rewatch of all of it. Season seven was much better than I remembered. Season eight was so abrupt and shitty, just like I remembered.

Yeah, season 8 is remembered more… The opposite of fondly, because it was more recent and the charcter arcs completely sabotaged, but season 7 was really bad.

I was so disappointed in it but I huffed copium assuming it was rushing things awkwardly so that it could come to a satisfying conclusion in season 8…

The bizarre thing is that had way more time, budget and less episodes for the last two seasons, yet they somehow still feel like they’re filled with terrible filler plot/dialog
