    It’s a live service thing. I think the term popped up in 2019 with the modern warfare remake, but the concept’s been around for a while. Googled it

      Ah. I’ve more heard the mention of a season as when a game or installment is released during the year. Like, “This season’s Battletoads…”. Not that a game’s iteration was called a season. The more you know I guess.

        Its a ploy to suck em dry, keep them addicted, then scrap it all when shiny new thing comes in. As its always been, but its far worse now and only getting worse.
