Nightshade might do something similar. I haven’t used it yet so I don’t know much about the details and whether it really works and if it deforms images.

Seems you’re right. Data poising seems to be very limited and challenging in general. And only works in laboratory conditions or for very specific, narrow use cases. What I learned from googling for a few minutes is, these tools either stopped working, never worked, or they’re snake oil.
Yup, exactly what I found when I last looked into them. Which is a shame. I would so love to use something like that to protect my photography work.
