In the prime timeline (the one where the Bell Riots and Irish Unification both occurred in 2024) the seahorse emoji was added in Unicode 12.0 (in 2019), but in this timeline none of these events have occurred yet.
Wait, (from the first link) the hiking emoji isn’t real either? Could have sworn there was one with a guy (and a girl one) taking a step while holding a walking stick/staff.
How do the emojis get selected/assigned? It feels like tugging on that thread might help resolve this. They don’t just randomly show up; someone decides to assign a unicode value, artists create the images for many platforms and emoji packs/fonts, code interprets the unicode and replaces it with the associated image.
I see. I’m not an iphone user so I’d never have known. I don’t really like timeline SciFi, with a few exceptions, but I get the Mandela effect meme. Thanks for the update. Recent events have made me super conspiracy brained
