U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday night that she will abandon the congressional district she has represented for nearly three years — and seek her party’s nomination in 2024 …
What sucks is CD4 isn’t just the eastern plains. It contains a huge amount of suburbs as well, but the district is so huge that the suburban vote gets washed out.
The Constitutuin only requires members to be a resident of the state they were elected from, not of the district. Which makes sense, since districts may need to redrawn after each census, and it seems unfair to move a member’s district through redistricting. (Sometimes it is unavoidable, though, when a state loses districts and districts are combined).

Her new district is actually the eastern plains. And the western slope isn’t all bad. Fruita is pretty great.

She doesn’t live there, she says she’s going to move there even though it’s not required.
It’s not required? So, like, could I maybe run against her?
I always wanted to be a congress person…
If you live in Colorado, go for it. I don’t know you, but I bet you’d do less harm.
sadly, not in colorado. Though I’d have to admit, I’m an asshole.
(not that I’m disagreeing with the less-harm-than-her thing… just saying you could do way better than me in politics.)
