U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday night that she will abandon the congressional district she has represented for nearly three years — and seek her party’s nomination in 2024 …
The Constitutuin only requires members to be a resident of the state they were elected from, not of the district. Which makes sense, since districts may need to redrawn after each census, and it seems unfair to move a member’s district through redistricting. (Sometimes it is unavoidable, though, when a state loses districts and districts are combined).
She doesn’t live there, she says she’s going to move there even though it’s not required.
It’s not required? So, like, could I maybe run against her?
I always wanted to be a congress person…
If you live in Colorado, go for it. I don’t know you, but I bet you’d do less harm.
sadly, not in colorado. Though I’d have to admit, I’m an asshole.
(not that I’m disagreeing with the less-harm-than-her thing… just saying you could do way better than me in politics.)
