Is it an autism thing that I kind of get annoyed when people hold doors for me? Like fuck, I was planning to open the door myself, now you just changed my plan.

I’ve disliked it ever since an older man held the door open for me, but stood awkwardly in the doorway. He copped a feel as I tried to get past. Creepy.

Like every time or if you were like 40 feet away and now you feel like you have to walk faster to stop inconveniencing the person holding the door? Or like you have someone 40 feet behind you and now you worry if you should hold the door for them too, since the door was held for you?

You can do the “push open the door more as you let it go” and let them decide if they would rather hurry to get it or just open it themselves.

Sometimes I pull out a cigarette, stop and pretend to light it, just to let them off the hook / make them stop waiting for me…

Anything more than a one second pause in the doorway, like unless the door would be closed in my face as soon as I got to it. I still wouldn’t mind it closing in my face but I would at least be anticipating it.
