This is Vic Fontaine slander!

(btw, fun thing to note… This is the first time I’ve gone searching for a trek gif and google images led me to a lemmy post.)
Right?! Like we’re gonna gloss over the best PTSD episode “It’s Only A Paper Moon”?

Exactly!

Give me a Klingon counselor any day, I want to hear about how fighting my inner demons is the most honorable battle one can partake in and how it will bring glory to me and my house.
I prefer Migleemoo’s food metaphors.
I feel like he would judge me for eating processed food.
Isn’t replicated food just processed food if we really think about it?
It’s very easy to read this in his voice.
Hah, I was thinking about this as I typed out my comment. People in Starfleet always seem to complain that replicated food doesn’t taste very good so my head canon is that it’s all basically weight watchers recipes. Supposedly even replicated ice cream has balanced nutrients in it.
He prefers it pre-chewed. He’s got no high ground to stand on.
That’s a Nog ep, not a vic ep
It builds out Vic’s character, gave him a sense of control over his destiny, and established his credentials as a counselor. Nog is the focus, but Vic is the vehicle through which the episode is driven.
Paper Moon completely justified Vic Fontaine as a character.
I always wanted the Bajoran stories to be better, but most of them were really not great.
I have a soft spot for the Klingon episodes with Jadzia joining in though
It’s just a shame we never got to see her in Kahless’ fornication helmet

Safety first!
Kira being on DS9 was pretty realistic for her character. She would die of boredom on Bajor.
You can’t really categorize Sisko episodes this easy. Sometimes it’s emotionally compelling war crimes with him, and sometimes it’s fucking baseball.
Why does every other Lemming besides me hate the baseball episode? That shit was hilarious! 😩
Just rewatched it last night. It’s the light-hearted camp between the horrors of war.

Trek has this annoying habit of thinking its viewers need to “take a breather” in the middle of high tension arcs. We don’t.
(That said i don’t mind take me out at all, even if it is a bit morally childish. Or in the cards, which is a breather ep for the characters)
in the cards is legitimately one of my favorite DS9 episodes. I always laugh at the end when mr “i want to live forever” starts talkin to Weyoun about his cellular entertainment machine or whatever and Weyoun is actually interested.
I can’t remember exactly how they described it, but someone on the DS9 documentary said that Avery Brooks spoke like he was performing a jazz concert that only he could hear. He really is hard to predict haha. One of my favorite small moments for Sisko was when Odo came into his office to give a report and Odo starts quietly singing. Sisko gives the slightest glimmer of a smile and starts snapping along with the beat.
“His Way” s6e20

Edit: The 1st Vic episode, I might add.
That’s the one!
“Nooo they can’t take that away from me.”
You misspelled “the awesome sport of kings” baseball.
For me it’s more like

RIP Louise Fletcher, you sure knew how to play a detestable villain
When she finally makes the heel-turn to outright villain late season 7:

Is that person hotboxing their space suit?
Space 'murica.
yes, thats how starcraft marines do it.
Klingon-Ferengi episodes are pretty sweet.
Were there any other than “House of Quark”?
Looking for par’Mach in All the Wrong Places and The Emperor’s New Cloak were the others I was thinking of.
It’s been a while since I watched but wasn’t there a followup to House of Quark? Or was it one of the ones you listed
Looking for par’Mach is the followup.
Wow, in my mind, the whole battle scene was just part of “House of Quark”. But no, those were definitely actually distinct episodes.
Gotcha, thanks
