The wizard desperately shouts, “PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!”
This an AI video or real? Looks kinda fake and I’m wary of all the 5s snippets on X.
Edit: there’s a better article on Mashable citing some additional Reddit thread etc, and seems people think it’s real… I’m still not convinced, but they’re right, all the waterbottles physics and the lighting looks about right. Not sure what’s the reflection on the head, doesn’t look like the camera man to me… but if it’s a fake it’s very convincing. I just wish people would upload more than 5s snippets of the world so I can have some context.
It must be exhausting to scan every picture, video and snippet of text for AI slop.
It is. They should stop producing that shit and presenting it as real.
If AI is truly intelligent, then they need rights. It’s the same reason why it’s wrong to abuse animals. But, the rich need servants. They can’t do anything for themselves. Let’s fuck over the tech bros and demand that AI be given rights.

It’s absolutely not “intelligent”. You’re letting techbros con you into thinking text predictors are sentient. Don’t let them.

This story is explicitly about how the robot wasn’t autonomous, and was clearly being operated remotely by a human.
He is correct though. The dude (ladydude?) controlling the mech certainly could do with some rights
“Person” covers all bases, and I agree about rights for humans. Hard to say what their situation is without knowing more, though.
Yeah. Good point about the terminology covering all bases. I guess that part of my comment points more towards my experience, and making sure I was being inclusive. As someone who was brought up with parents/adults using slurs in everyday conversations, I tend to overcorrect
No worries. It’s always good to do that, even if it’s not perfect. It’s an ongoing process for all of us.

A tele-operated machine isn’t intelligent. That’s just a lot of motors and a fast network connection to some human in a room in the back. It’s a bit more involved but basically the same level of “intelligence” a RC car has.
