“Morale has never been lower,” the senior lawmaker said.

With any resemblance of morals thrown out of the window long ago, this is only fitting.

Any Republican going is a chance for the American people to fix the current situation.

Fairly sure this was predicted months ago, with the triggering event being the recent elections that were swept by the dems. The prediction was basically that if it looked like they were going to lose control of any of the houses, there’d be a ton of people trying to put distance between themselves and the govt as there’s a higher likelihood they’ll get prosecuted for crimes. So the early resignations, and attempts to “apologize” are mostly just about trying to avoid accountability for their actions – rats fleeing a sinking ship.

I don’t understand why these butthurt republicans don’t just start voting against trump. Like somehow the only options are toe the party line or resign.

They’re afraid. Trump has more or less blacklisted every dissident from the party and its allies. It’s a career ending move and he’s even threatening some people with criminal charges.

I mean obviously they should do it anyway because it’s the right thing to do. But they didn’t get to where they are by pursuing public good over their own personal well-being.

Yeah, what’s the point of a Congress if no one is allowed to do what they think is right. Everyone on the Republican side in Congress is just a rubber stamp.

Because apart from Trump, they want to toe the party line.

If a few Republican House members resign then the Democrats take the majority. Democrats can take out Trump and do whatever else they want to help people. Meanwhile the former House members can sit on the sidelines and blame Democrats (specifically for non-Trump things).

But what about the Senate? Basically the hope is that everyone will forget what you’ve done. Look at the recent shutdown bill, the Senate Democrats who gave up everything aren’t up for reelection anytime soon. That thing they did 5 years ago? I don’t really remember what that was about.

People w/o spines don’t just grow them like Chia Pets. If they don’t have the guts to fight, they need to go. Even if they opposed one item — that wouldn’t be it. Democracy won’t survive silence.

“This entire White House team has treated ALL members like garbage. ALL. And Mike Johnson has let it happen because he wanted it to happen,” they told Punchbowl.

“That is the sentiment of nearly all—appropriators, authorizers, hawks, doves, rank and file,” the lawmaker said.

He blasted what he called “the arrogance of this White House team,” accusing them of running members “roughshod and threatened” while denying them even “little wins like announcing small grants or even responding from agencies.”

    Oh no! Anyway . . .

It’s not just members of the House. They treat everyone like garbage. They’re narcissists who don’t give a shit about anyone else.

These days, every time I hear good news I think, “How am I being played on this?” There is always a catch, it’s fake, or it’s a bold-faced lie. There just isn’t good news anymore.

Here’s what I think MTG is planning.

If we get a Blue wave next year [fingers crossed] she’ll be able to go on all the news shows and blame Trump.

Expect her to say something along these lines “I was all for Donald Trump, but like you, I was betrayed. But no one man is bigger than MAGA…”

She’s setting herself up for a Georgia Senate seat.
