    The nerve of this xAI employee to sit there 8 hours a day working at a company on a product that steals facial and voice data unconsensually. To then fucking chooses to sign the waiver giving xAI the right to use it. Then complain to the verge saying that it makes him uncomfortable.

    Bro! You do this to other people for a living! You sit down for 8 hours a day and enable this.

      Yeah. Like it’s horrible, but I’m not going to be super upset if an abuser walks down the street and gets jumped. If you can do it to others you should be able to take it, too.

    What is “biometric data”?

    Employees that were assigned as AI tutors were instructed to sign release forms granting xAI “a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, royalty-free license” to use, reproduce, and distribute their faces and voices,

    According to the [Wall Street] Journal, some employees balked at the demand, concerned that their faces or likeness could be sold to other companies or used in deepfake videos. The employees were put off by the chatbot’s sexual demeanor and its likeness to a waifu. But they were told that the collection of their data was “a job requirement to advance xAI’s mission.”
