There are still 40% of the US population who likes that dipshit?

That’s what I thought. All his actions so far have been anti-American too. It’s like what once was for so long has been taken over by a foreign force that loathes American foundations.

Pretty fucking ironic from those that call themselves conservative. Conserving what? They dismantling the core. Soon the America that we’ve known for centuries will be a part of history and no more.

They’re being told by not only Dear Leader, but by every part of their media ecosystem, that the country is literally on fire and falling apart everywhere.

They’ve been being told that kind of thing for decades. Most of these people don’t really travel, they don’t have friends outside their local area, heck there is a good chance they haven’t ever left their State to get a differing viewpoint firsthand. They are entirely reliant on the news media they consume.

Braindead tribal cultists who are unable to understand just how cruel the world can be. They’re undereductated and brainwashed and never learned to empathize. They are soft and have been coddled by a world that was handed to them by the previous generations who solved a lot of problems that caused suffering.

Probably more like 10% brainwashed idiots, 30% who don’t follow politics.

Start asking people about current events…they don’t even know. They hear the fox news headlines from someone in their circle but never the accurate details.

“Trump is saving American cities” Sweet, thanks Trump. “Trump is kicking out the criminals” wow this guy rocks!

I’m convinced they must all be bots voting in an online poll or something. I’ve not met anyone IRL that supports his actions.

Come to Ohio outside of the major cities. Just drive through farmland. Just don’t let them know you voted for Obama. This is a state that despite being part of the Union during the civil war, still flies the confederate flag. I just had to break up with a bitch because she shows me her tattoo and it’s the confederate flag. These people exist, and they’re PROUD to be racist. This man is their idol. They are every bit as brain dead with dead teeth as you imagine. But they exist. And they vote.

The reality is that you have a LOT of people who are ignorant, willfully or otherwise, of the atrocities that are going on. It’s easy to hate on them, but also recognizing that the majority of people just aren’t that curious or aware of anything outside their little bubble.

They live in an area where Fox is on every TV in every public place talking about how amazing Dear Leader is and think “Well it’s ‘the news’ so I’m staying well informed”, get a little poll on their phone asking if they approve of Trump, and go on with their day.

I don’t say this to justify any of what’s going on, it’s monstrous and disgusting and vile, but it’s also to give at least some hope that your average person isn’t that vile and has merely been lied to their whole lives.

I can’t tell you how much I feared coming out as trans to people and the backlash I’d receive. Even my backwoods cousins Oklahoma who made a post about “voting for Trump to keep trans pedos out of their kids’ bathrooms” right after the election were shockingly accepting and all that rhetoric went away the moment a trans person wasn’t some abstract concept being demonized by Fox/Newsmax/Reichbart, and was an actual person they knew.

The amount of disinformation out there is horrifying, and so it’s really not surprising that there are still people who support him, simply because they truly have no idea what’s actually going on in the world.

Oh, I’m aware of the reality. I just made the mistake of allowing myself some hope that a small number of people that supported him during the last go around were waking up just a little. Seemed like it here and there, but it’s not enough to matter, it seems.

I don’t think that the average person is a frothing MAGAt or anything, I’m just depressed that there are so many people that slurp that shit down without looking around at all. Talked to someone recently who still somehow believes that the Elon Nazi salute debacle was just due to a tricky camera angle.

I’m just exhausted from trying to educate people while watching everything crumble. The majority of us Americans may not be inherently bad, but due to the systematic degradation of our educational system since the days of Reagan we are a lot dumber and less informed than we should be.

I dunno, I guess I see it somewhat from the perspective of there being ways to educate people and make change, whereas if people were “just like that” it’d truly be a lost cause.

It’s not the same poll, so not sure how comparable it is, but technically he’s been around 42/43% approval rating. If it dropped to 40% thats actually a move in the right direction.

That may well be, but it won’t help any hehehe. He keeps on dragging us to climate collapse and WW3.
