Remember a few months ago where there was that weird push to get people to dislike Pedro Pascal for some reason? It didn’t even have a source other than “He’s popular and in a lot of big stuff, so you must hate him.”

        Oh, so douchebags hate him.

I know he got in a fight or something with that woman that was on mandalorian and the 1st deadpool over trans rights because he was close to someone trans. I didn’t dive deeper into it since there was a clear ones a dirtbag and the other is chill.

No they didnt. They had a conversation, and she thanked him for talking to her. And that was it.

The drama you hear about is from unhinged culture war weirdos, who want a constant battle all the time. What did happen, was that they started hounding her to put her pro nouns on her twitter bio. She said no, and they started sending her abuse tweets. A LOT of abuse tweets. At that point she put “beep/bop/beep”, which she explained at droid noises. But the culture warriors accused her of anti trans hate, and making fun of peoples pro nouns, and thats when the rape and death threats started.

Its at this point that she posted the ill conceived post about Nazis creating an atmosphere where it was ok to hate and abuse Jewish people, to comment on the abuse she was getting and that twitter was doing nothing about it other than deleting the posts.

The long and the short of it is that she posted a lot of really dumb right wing shit, and people went after her for it. And it got so bad that rape and death threats happened. This, IMO, was a too much. And everyone agreed when it happened to Laura Bailey, but for some reason, Gina chats shit so its fine that shes gets rape and death threats…

Her posting the picture of the Jewish woman running through the streets though… That was right up there with Kevin Spaceys “I dont remember that happening, but if it did, Im sorry. Oh, and Im gay by the way.”.

He seems like a nice dude, but you never know, honestly.

I love Conan, for example, and have been watching his show and listening to his podcast for years now, but I won’t delude myself into thinking I know him or what he stands for in his personal life.

Now, Im not making a connection here, so dont take it that I am. Im only addressing your point.

Jimmy Saville. Put his neck out for kids for decades. Raised multiple millions over 40 years for various childrens charities and hospitals. Had tv shows, that made the wishes of children come true. Like meeting their heroes, or having once in a lifetime adventures.

The whole time, he was raping kids. 40 fucking years of being a nation hero, and as soon as he died, it all came out. Generations of people LOVED that man. And he was one of the most prolific child molesters to ever have lived.

mohab is right. You dont know any of these people. Grace Kelly once said “Hollywood amuses me. Holier-than-thou for the public and unholier-than-the-devil in reality.”. Do we really think thats changed? I mean, they all said nothing while Harvey was raping countless women. Why? Because their careers were more important. Even going so far as to praise the man in public.

You can like what hollywood people say, but you should never forget that they are always saying things to be popular. Because being popular is what gets you money in hollywood.

The absolute sickest thing about Savile was that he raped girls in hospitals. Like, he went to visit sick kids in hospitals and the people running the hospitals left him alone with the kids, knowing fully what he was going to do. It’s not just that Jimmy Savile was so disgusting, it’s that he was enabled by so many people for such a long time.

It was. Theres many examples of people eluding to things, but not actually outright saying them. The reason being that the liable laws in the UK are that you need to prove what you are saying is true, rather than the American way of doing it which is that they need to prove you are lying.

And while it was an open secret, they all still went on his show, took his requests, and perpetuated the lie that was Jimmy Saville. And thats the real issue. Those who seek fame and fortune have a miserable track record of doing the right thing. They only joined the metoo thing because it was advantageous to their careers. Same with this Kimmel thing. If social media wasnt all abuzz with it, they would be keeping their mouths shout.

I will never, ever, understand why people look to celebrities to get their morality. You’d think the fact that Corey Feldman still cant name the people who raped him and Haim would say it all. Harvey was only the tip of the iceberg.

Pretty sure no one said “hate him”, just that he was turning up in everything. If you want to moan about the internet repeating things to a nauseating degree, you have my support. But the line for those things is LONG. And Pedro aint even at the front of the queue. “Nice” is.

I was feeling a bit supersaturated with Pedro Pascal recently, just because Last of Us season 2 had just aired and he was in both the new Fantastic Four movie and Eddington both in theaters at the same time, but I’ve never had a problem with the guy and I definitely love how outspoken he is about societal injustices.

Dude is aware of what it’s like living in dictatorship in his ancestral country of Chile.

Hang on, Brazil rebuffed Trump’s strong arming to go easy on Bolsonaro. And Pedro having the big balls to stand up to Trump. There seems to be pattern of two countries that suffered under a dictatorship. Who again supported the dictatorship in these countries before?

Reminder that Pedro Pascal is related to Salvador Allande, democraticly elected communist whom the US overthrew and replaced with a fascist dictatorship.

The coup involved flying a plane into the Capitol on 9/11, 1971

Edit: 1973, and a plane flying missiles into the capitol building.

Might as well just change the headline to say: “Pedro Pascal is on the right side of history” because like most others here on the federated internet he knows what’s up and for him it probably started with his sister coming out.

All it takes is a little wake up call.

And now I’m thinking of the movie The Matrix again…

And if you’re looking to support Pedro Pascal, may I interest you in this little (scifi-western) independent film he made with Sophie Thatcher?

Maybe Disney didn’t expect the subscription backlash and it’s trying to reduce losses by asking it’s spokespeople to give them a reason to “cave”

Maybe it’s just Pascal being a good dude. Hard to know sadly, hope it’s the 🪜.

the only way to hurt disney is people cancelling thier disney+, espn, hulu plus subscription. it will be hard for marvel and SW fans to cancel it, since thier so addicted to the franchises.

“They are” doesn’t have an “i”.

To conjoin those two words, you delete the “a” from “are”, replace it with an apostrophe, and push them up together, getting: “they’re”

      They are

      V

      They re

      V

      They 're

      V

      They’re

Cause streaming isn’t a significant part of their business.

People have been saying that since Biden. But so much of the capital is tied up in Hedge Funds and at such a high price point that there’s not a lot of people to sell it to.

Dumping stock only makes sense when there’s someone to take your bags. If you don’t have a designated mark (the US Treasury during the '08 collapse, for instance, or the recent 10% stake in Intel that the government just took) then all you can do is hold.

He’s out of a job so he needs to look slobby and disheveled!! News articles have always gotta choose a picture that fits the way they want to portray the person’s response to the situation, even if it’s actually from years ago. It’s one of my favorite things to see because it’s just so funny.

As someone who got to this level of fame later in their career he’s probably also been smart with his money and is now set for life freeing him up to act like a normal person.
