Perhaps you have a rosier view of humans than i do. There seems to be an assumption that humans are good if you just talk correctly. I think tbis view is naive. I am a misanthrope. I do not believe humans are good. Good is to be like God, which is an impossble task for humans. 100% of humans are drentched in ordinary evil that they are in denial of, and i witness it every day. That is their default state.

I never said humans are good. I also completely disagree that 100% of humans are “drenched in ordinary evil”. What a hyperbolic claim… It sounds like you’re depressed and you’re allowing your mental state to completely warp your worldview. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that everything has a balance. For all the evil in the world, there’s a near equal amount of good/ beauty. Trust that my worldview, nor my view of humans is rosy. I see evil and unnecessary hardship everywhere I look, everyday. But I have also largely broken free from the societal programming that taught me to only focus on the bad things in life. You can do that too, but it won’t happen as long as you’re still feeding your insatiable appetite for nihilism.

There’s an old proverb that’s both true, and relevant here which goes something like; all of us have two wolves inside of us. One full of light, love, and creativity. The other full of darkness, hate, and destruction. The one that grows is the one you feed.

I agree with dialetical thinking (good/bad) and choosing where to focus like on the wolves story. On my end, i am not depressed, but there is something true about having a hunger or thirst for expressing of and finding validation for misanthropy. This is different from nihilism because nihilism is a rejection of morals while i am an idealist / moralist. Focusing on neutral or positive things might be better than focusing on negative regardless if they are true or not, or how cathartic it is. Attention, focus… yeah i am reminded to exercise that muscle. The focus comment was a good insight.
