Democrats were fully willing to help Israel annex Gaza and ethnically cleanse the strip, despite the rhetoric. They’d have done it a different way (maybe) but the end result is the same.
But with Trump, those same Democrats have been forced to come out against it! Partisanship is making long-time Israel supporters rethink their support for the genocide, and now they’re speaking up.
But don’t be fooled - this is only partisanship. The genocide was bipartisan before Trump, but he has a way of actually sharpening the contradictions and forcing liberals to stand for something.
