The F’d up thing is that being solid middle class and having sufficient income to help with a kid’s college money, put away money to actually retire, and pay a mortgage is top 10%. That’s literally what middle class was 50 years ago. Now you have to be a ~10%-er to do it.

Right, but saying “three guesses” implies that the answer is something that’s slightly hidden. “Capitalists” doesn’t really make sense because it’s essentially going “three guesses who it is that’s doing all this capitalism… that’s right, capitalists!”. If OP didn’t intend it as an antisemitic dogwhistle then it’s an odd title for other reasons.

That’s what I meant by “slightly”. It’s an expression that gets used when we all know the answer but it’s one that’s slightly under the surface.
But it doesn’t really work for capitalists because these problems don’t exist in a lot of capitalist nations and it kind of exists for supposed noncapitalist nations as well where if you don’t follow the rules and don’t work then they take your commodities away.

Notice how we don’t have FDR style protections anymore and haven’t since the 1970s? Doesn’t count if it doesnt exist anymore. The only places those safety nets exist is in the Scandinavian countries and those protections are the result of the Second International which was a Communist organization.

71 countries in the global south are considered democratic by the West. Thats a full 45% of them including places like Argentina, Brazil, Chile. Notice how all of these countries have issues that are already solved in the US? Notice how having a Democratic government in place didn’t create safety nets. Notice how these place dont have a safety net.
