    I mean, what does it say that one of the most recognizable symbols of the United States, worldwide, is a cartoon mouse whose job is to sell toys to kids?

    That the rest of the world is as bad about assumptions and generalizations as Americans?

    I don’t particularly care for Disney either and you raise good points but it being a “symbol of the United States” and a “rite of passage” is buying into marketing from Disney, which only a subset of Americans do.
