The world police fucked itself and is now asking for help? How bout that precious second amendment you guys always go on about? Grow some balls and fix your dumpster fire and stop acting like victims
Yeah, the portion of the US that wants help isn’t the portion that was super 2nd amendment, that was the people who are currently in power. Your argument is like hearing cries for help from the party not in control and then using the argument points of the party in power as a reason not to.
Also, what do you expect to happen? Liberals across the US are going to go buy guns and then mount an armed revolt? Unlike January 6, 2021, these fascists will be more than happy to mow down armed liberals for insurrection.
US citizens are really limited in options, either Trump dies and the party in power falls apart, mid-terms come and successfully limit power (if we even get elections again), whole states go into a new civil war, or a third party goes to war with the US and overthrows the current party. Other than that there are meaningless peaceful protests or failed armed rebellions. Ultimately we are talking about a government that can spy on you anywhere and everywhere unless you live in a Faraday cage, can hit you with precision strikes from no where, or levy more force than any militia.
The US escalation of power has negated the effectiveness of small time militias which is why Democrats have been arguing for reductions in 2nd amendment rights in the first place. The time of being able to pick up arms against your own government (in the US) is functionally passed and so it makes more sense to reduce the availability of arms for criminals and mass shootings.
I go back to the saying, the first people the Nazi’s invaded where their own. Once things passed a certain point there wasn’t much the german people could do, without outside help, to stop the Nazis. Now if you just expect mass martyrdom then that’s another thing.
Have you thought about cordinating strikes or something similar? Just stop crucial parts of society. Refuse to work as a union. That’s what we in Europe use to do, if something is completely wrong with our leader.
Yeah, that doesn’t really work in the US. You kind of need worker protections for that to work. We, the liberals of the US, have been fighting for them for decades but haven’t been very successful across the board, only in a few states. The US has more people than it has essential roles for the most part, unless I can convince a majority of people in my work sector to agree to strike it won’t really mean anything.
EDIT: My work says I can take leave, after that I am no show, after two strikes of no show at work without cause (protesting isn’t a cause) I can be terminated. So following your model I lose my job and nothing changes unless everyone else does it at the same time. No, we do not have a union.
“Unless everybuddy does it at the same time.” - that is the point… everyone does it, at the same time.
You think our work protection would protect us in a case like this? It wouldnt. But we are a much more connected people apparently, who shares the same values. We wouldnt just let this go on. Even if it meant I would loose my job, this would be bigger than me. This is for our childrens future.
There’s nothing the US does more consistently than being beaten by militias.
If you’re talking about militias in the desert or the jungle whose standard of living is shitting in a cave then sure. If you’re talking about weekend warriors who want to continue living like modern persons then you’re wrong. Sorry that people don’t want to go back to the stone age to overthrow their current government. I feel like this argument is really missing the point that for most people they are already trying desperately to live their lives without incident. Most American’s don’t support foreign wars, they don’t want trade wars, all they want is to go to work and make enough money to live their lives comfortably. When you start talking about functional revolution (not just talking shit) you’re effectively talking about abandoning your entire life and the people in it. For example, if your family relies on you to survive then they are screwed if you abandon everything to join a revolt.
The “warrior caste” is not so, they’re just pro war so long as it doesn’t impact them. As soon as the consequences of war start to hit their wallet they start complaining. They’re happy to have the US bomb Venezuela so they can have oil prices drop, but if it means the cost of goods in the store go up 50% then they cry.
Honestly, the best action is for foreign powers to treat the US like they have Russia. Sanction the US and make it suffer economically.
You really think that the US has only fought some kind of desperate monkey people with nothing to live for, huh?
The only militia’s, or similar groups, the US have fought in recent history have been Vietnamese, North Koreans, Nicaraguans, Iraqi’s, and Afghanistani’s who, apart from their formal militaries, were militia groups hiding in caves 9 times out of 10. This isn’t a discussion about who they were or what they hoped to be, but about the effectiveness of their resistance and the impact on their lives.
For a group to effectively rebel within the US it would require a complete abandonment of normal life and even then it likely wouldn’t be meaningfully effective.
Americans are not motivated to get rid of Trump. Parts of the population is ineffectual, complacent and undependable, the other is fully onboard with Trump.
Yeah, most American’s don’t want to give up literally everything to become an ineffectual or powerless martyr. Let’s get it straight, unless there is a coordinated effort (such as a state originated rebellion like the civil war) then no person has enough power in the US to effectively make a difference. There aren’t enough people universally coordinated to cause an effective general strike, instead it just means getting fired from your job. If you join a rebellion then your family has to subsist without you.
The Overton Window has shifted too far for a rebellion to spontaneously ignite.
How bout that precious second amendment you guys always go on about?
32% of Americans own guns. 45% of those gun owners identify as conservative, while only 15% identify as liberal. The U.S. population is around 350 million people, while there are an estimated 500 million guns.
So, assuming a roughly even distribution of guns per household (although my gut says the conservatives are more likely to own multiple guns), we can estimate about 48 million Americans who support the Trump regime holding on to about 225 million guns, while 16 million people with 75 million guns oppose him. Those are pretty rough numbers, but they’re close enough to illustrate that the 2nd amendment won’t help us. The majority of Americans oppose Trump, but the vast majority of guns support him.
The other 40% are independents. Difficult to say which way they lean, but we’d need almost all of them to oppose the regime to stop being the minority. I assume you’re being tongue and cheek about the, “two arms,” thing, but in case you’re not, having multiple guns would make it easier to arm friends/family who share their ideology and create a paramilitary force (although, right now, if you wanted to join a right-wing paramilitary force to enact violence against your perceived liberal enemies, you could just join ICE).
The civil war has debatably already begun in Minneapolis, and anyone not swayed by the footage of Renee Good being murdered by ICE isn’t going to be swayed by a common ground on healthcare costs.

What about the other 40%?
If they only have 2 arms then having multiple weapons is less impressive - they can only fire one at a time.

Start talking to Conservatives, listen, and find a compromise that the majority can support.
There are pretty good odds you’d get shot for ringing the doorbell.
How are the odds for waiting until the civil war to meet them?
The civil war has debatably already begun in Minneapolis, and anyone not swayed by the footage of Renee Good being murdered by ICE isn’t going to be swayed by a common ground on healthcare costs.
That excuse really went out the window when the tyrannical, oppressive force went unopposed.
