You may have misinterpreted the headline. The Nobel committee was asked about Machado trying to bribe Trump into letting her be president of Venezuela by giving him her Nobel Peace Prize. They explained that, while the medal is a physical object that can be lost, stolen, sold, or given away, the Nobel Prize itself is non-transferable. This clarification was necessary because the president of the US has the mind of a child.
Who really cares what this joke award body says the award has always been bad and a way to sanitize its founders image and promote imperialism.
Like that damn Nobel laureate and known imperialist Malala Yousafzai.
This is the wrong decision. I’d’ve been pleased if they’d’ve said “you can’t transfer it: you can only give it back.”
…and the awardee for 2025 will be recorded forever as “declined”.
I think this is a better solution.
