Mass animal murder, and thus boneless wings, should not be legal

But we can give trans people something else for free, like maybe something they need, such as gender affirming healthcare

And actually how about also giving everyone free food

I’m loving how many comments are along this line. If this were Reddit, the trolls would be out in full force downvoting valid comments because “ew vegan.” I don’t know if it’s because the mods are stellar on this com, or if it’s evidence of overlap and/or acceptance between trans individuals and veganism, but it’s refreshing to see.

So, exploitation and mass murder is okay because alternatives don’t taste as good for you?

Hot take: every single person that says “I can’t wait for lab grown meat” is lying, possibly to themselves too, and will consume corpses on a daily basis even when “lab grown meat” is available, because then they’ll have thought of another excuse.

I’d change if it was economical and I couldn’t tell the difference. That being said there’s a lot of meat I end up having because I don’t really check if it’s got meat or not, just go by what sounds nice at the time so it’d probably be based on widespread adoption more than a conscious choice on my part.

          Yes.

Though as soon as lab-grown meat is commercially available, I’ll be making the switch. Factory farming is an ethical nightmare, but chicken wings are just too damn tasty.

The thing is, they really aren’t. Have you ever eaten an unseasoned piece of chicken? It’s totally tasteless. Almost all the flavor comes from the spices, which means you could just as well put those spices on anything else and it will taste pretty much like chicken.

I’m against industrialized abuse and slaughter of animals, but unseasoned meat is delicious. I don’t think making things up about the flavor is a good argument.

The seasoning also can enhance the flavor of the thing it is seasoning. Chocolate syrup is great on ice cream, but not on chicken. Barbecue sauce is good on chicken and not on ice cream. That a given seasoning can be better or worse based on the underlying food would imply that foods have a characteristic of improving more or less given some particular seasoning. The point is that chicken has the ability to improve greatly with the right seasoning, which might not be as true of some other foods. There’s also texture and nutrition, of course.

That said, chickens don’t deserve to be tortured and killed to meet the carnal pleasures of man.

Good point! But I feel like chicken is the one meat that is very easy to replicate taste wise. I had “fake chicken” that tasted identical to the real thing, and that was because of the seasoning. So yeah, chicken may have a subtle taste that is improved greatly by seasoning but the same can be said for tofu or other supplements. And if you use the same seasoning as you’d use for chicken, I’d argue most people would only find a difference in the texture.

But in the end it’s all about personal taste I guess.

And 100% agree on your last point, no living being deserves that.

If you mean flying, I’m not sure wings without some structural support will do a great job of maintaining airflow or generating lift.
