Trump and top administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, characterized Saturday’s assault on Venezuela and abduction of the country’s president as a warning shot in the direction of Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, and other Latin American nations.

During a Saturday press conference, Trump openly invoked the Monroe Doctrine — an assertion of U.S. dominance of the Western Hemisphere — and said his campaign of aggression against Venezuela represented the “Donroe Doctrine” in action.

In his unwieldy remarks, Trump called out Colombian President Gustavo Petro by name, accusing him without evidence of “making cocaine and sending it to the United States.”

Good job keeping Kamala out. You sure showed Israel by putting America on the path to becoming an invasive conquering fascist regime.

Well, the Ds know they need an independent issue or three to win an election, it’s in the numbers (Ds and Rs can’t win with only their own voters voting, they are about 30% of voters each).

And they virtually ignored this, so of course she lost. She did exactly as she was expected to do, she’s not dumb. They ignored fundamental facts and instead pursued the Republican vote for much of her campaign. She fell on the sword, right out in the open, and everyone in politics knows it.

As someone who checked the box with her name. The voting for the less of two Israeli and oligarch owned evils is getting pretty old. The denouncing Israel thing was a huge and obvious elephant in the room. That being said we are literally surrounded by brainwashed Nazi’s who worship a pedofile con man so yea this DNC approved corrupt opposition candidate thing has failed and I’m getting really sick of it. She was bragging about Dick Cheney endorsing her for god sake’s. We don’t have healthcare, we don’t have worker protections and ending up on the streets is a literal death sentence in America. Things are rough and people are pissed add the fact that education is a debt trap, and out of reach for most and you get a perfect storm of ignorance. Add the fact that our media runs 24/7 brainwashing propaganda and is now consolidating all of our media into a Nazi propaganda machine you have a dangerous situation for the world. The person that wins the American presidential election is always the person that the wealthiest want in power that’s why we have the crooked electoral college system in the first place.

It’s a binary choice. Vote for not-Trump or get Trump. This was an intelligence test that America failed.

So you’re admitting that it was Harris’ devotion to an unpopular policy that killed her campaign. Am I getting that right? Why do you hold such disdain for an electorate that took a stand on an important issue, but not the candidate who made such a terrible political decision?

Because the other candidate was worse on every other factor and worse on the same issue.

You made a terrible political decision. Live with it. Or I don’t know, take a principaled stand and die storming Mar a Lago. Whatever, just fucking stop defending the worst decision you ever made.

You’re missing my point. Let’s stipulate that things are worse now that trump is president. Got it. Why do you blame the electorate and not the candidate? If she had been more politically savvy, she would not have taken such a politically damaging position? It’s her fault. She is the one you should be heaping scorn on.

Abdicating responsibility for who you voted for - or didn’t vote for - won’t help you. Why was “Israel is entitled to defend itself” in any way more ‘politically damaging’ than “Let’s recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel”? “Israel needs to just end it”? This is information that was available to you.

If someone’s going to shoot a person you care about in the foot or the head, “I don’t care” or “I can’t support either” is not the correct answer. I hope you understand how your choices have made this a significantly more realistic choice you’ll have to actually make some day.

Harris’ advocacy for genocide was more politically damaging than trump’s advocacy for genocide because they were appealing for votes from different constituencies. trump was soliciting votes from emotion-driven sociopaths and bigoted dullards who love to see brown people blowing up. Harris was soliciting votes from more educated, more enlightened, more empathetic people. Harris decided to throw those voters aside, assume their support, and try to siphon off the dullards. That is political malpractice. Republicans keep consolidating power because they are responsive to and deliver to their sociopathic base. Democrats keep doing the opposite. That’s why they lose.

It’s endlessly ironic and frustrating that the party that cares so little about the desires of its members calls itself ‘Democrats’.

I mean that’s a completely different geopolitical context than today. It was focused on regional hegemony, so it’s weird that Trump in America, as the global leader, wants to shrink to regional.

This ignorant dipshit has no idea what the Monroe Doctrine is, or even who Monroe was. If you had asked him yesterday who James Monroe was, he wouldn’t have had a clue. Someone whispered in his ear that it means he can have all of the Western Hemisphere, and all its oil, so now he’s all for it.

Just because these people twist something into something it’s not, doesn’t mean we have to accept it.
