I imagine the answer is, “a lot.”
It’s a combination of a few things:

Seize the largest oil reserve in the world, specifically that has heavy crude which is the type that America has lots of refineries for.

Distract from domestic issues: Epstein, economic issues, ICE abducting people in the street, all the corruption from the regime (pardoning crypto criminals because they paid Trump $2B, etc)
