DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRUE FEDIVERSE USER
Morning: Eat pronouns cereal for breakfast
Afternoon: Meow for ninety minutes straight and then dye hair blue
Evening: Fediblock an Instance because one of their users forgot to CW for tomatoes in their post
Late evening: Install Linux on a TI graphic calculator, but only the good kind of Linux
Night: Stay up until 3 am and only get 4½ h sleep
3 am

Oh wow, you wake up early
Blocking OP for lack of alt text.
“for ninety minutes straight”
False. We don’t do anything straight for any amount of time
Meow for 90 minutes straight? This person knows nothing of the fediverse
Yeah, it’s dye hair first (other acceptable colors are purple, pink, and so on), then meow for 90 minutes!

Where is admonish everyone else for not being exactly the right amount and kind of leftist?
Mods will delete your comment and ban you immediately if you don’t follow the party line.
Actual discourse between different ideas, convictions, and worldviews is suprisojgly rare between Lemmyings.
Hey you- you reading this, try talking to someone on the fediverse who’s perspective you dont understand. Share what you think and try to understand what they do :)
We’re all just here escaping the corporate dystopia. Reject the engagement-centric rage bait socialization we’ve all been handed and be curious about whatever weird belief system or ideology that internet rando has. We can build a different culture here, its not too late

Lmao
wouldn’t that be nice
Best I can do is block ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It’s there but you blocked it
You forgot between the evening and late evening: Argue with other Fediverse users for few hours about which linux is the good linux first
Certified true user.

It isn’t an argument: the answer is Mint.
Linux Mint is what you recommend to noobs and normies. All the cool kids are using NixOS now.
Ha get with the times old man it’s cachyos now. Even that’s getting old though I assume some new shit will come into the spotlight soon
The real cool kids use the new gen of image based distros like Bluefin now 😎
That’s just a less powerful version of NixOS’ atomic updates.
I use arch btw
I use Linux Mint XFCE Edition.
stop recommending mint to noobs and normies! EndeavorOS is stable enough for an average user, while offering the helping hand of ArchWiki and AURs.
It depends on the person, do they want to just use something which can open the browser, office suite, and occasionaly some games/programs without uderstanding anything, or they like to tinker, and customize, break and repair their system. I recommend Mint/Eos/Arch based on the willingness of thinkering. Cinnamon is easy and straight forward, KDE is not.
EOS most certainly can open the browser out of the box. I don’t see why such a user would have an issue with kde, or, for the matter, why any windows refugee would
TI Graphing calculator, not a graphic calculator.
I’ll see myself out thank you
Certified true user.
I actually even double checked that it hadn’t changed since the last time I used one! Ha
They were really fun to play with during class though.

Linux
instead of
GNU/Linux
Look Richard, if you put as much effort into finishing Hurd as you do trying to convince everyone to put GNU at the start of everything Hurd would get a release.
Obviously they’re installing Alpine Linux, not some bloated Ubuntu crap. Actually, since Ubuntu has switched to uutils, is it uutils/Linux now?
I’d like to interject for a moment…
4½ hours? Whoa look at sleeping beauty over here bragging about how much sleep they get.
Fake. No beans, moths, corn…
Or jeans, pondering orbs, or Taylor Swift’s jet… and not even one Star Trek/Wars/LOTR reference!?

Ya, I always watch some corn before I go to sleep.
as one does.
I’ve been here since the APIcolypse, and I understood about half of the OP, but you get my upvote, anyway.
My defining moment of the fediverse is when I made a stupid joke asking about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and was told the short answer was Capitalism.
Most of the post is geared more towards Mastodon/microblogiverse content, rather than Lemmy/threadiverse stuff. There’s a lot of cultural overlap, but where they diverge, this post aims for the former.
