    Explanation: Portugal, after it lost the last remnants of its empire (and its fascist regime) established very close ties with its long-independent former colony of Brazil. The meme is mostly just being cheeky - Brazilian economic power has meant that Portugal is very much the ‘minor’ partner of the duo (a reversal of the prior colonial situation), but there’s no actual reverse colonization going on - and the Portuguese public maintains a very positive view of Brazilians.

    Kinda the same with US and UK, no? Probably even more so than Brazil and Portugal.

      I mean, the US is about ~3 times the size of the UK, both demographically and economically.

      Brazil is ~20 times the size of Portugal demographically, and about ~7 times the size economically.
