I know there are some notepads that divers use but I was more hoping for something specifically for the shower that I could maybe stick to the wall like a waterproof whiteboard maybe? I’ve had no success searching online unfortunately.

Never have I related to shower thoughts. For one it’s too short to do any thinking in there. Also, I don’t really want to think in the shower. If I’m relaxing it head empty in the stream of water.

Same goes for singing in the shower, it was always a TV thing.

My point is how many people actually do anything in the shower besides washing (mostly)?

Also there are those stone notepads. The paper ir smooth and water proof, can be written with a pencil or a pen (not a fountain one tho, but that’s not relevant in the shower either way). I tried it once as a daily notebook and I didn’t like it. With a mechanical pen after some writing it grips the core by the sharper angle and breaks it.

You could try remembering things. Might be good practice.

I mean, we’re not exactly talking about a dream upon waking here…and you can remember those too with practice.

Most phones are waterproof enough these days that you can just use them with wet hands in the shower, I keep mine on the sink next to the shower and occasional use the phones mid shower when needed. You could also use a voice to text notes app if you want to be as hands free as possible

My younger brother has afriends that is a Brazilian math wizard. He does his best work in the shower. He writes his thoughts on the steam in the shower glass and has a water proof camera nearby to take pictures before they vanish.

I would recommend not doing that. The shower is for you the place to let your mind wander. If you want to capture that you will stress yourself and your last place where your mind was free will be gone.

Which is exactly why he wants to capture the thoughts.

Not everyone is like you, don’t assume they approach the shower the way you do.

I’ve solved long-standing technical work problems in the shower.

I don’t think they are saying that you can’t solve problems in the shower, but that this meditative thought process is limited in the first place by an intentional work mentality.

This is not true for everybody. Consider offering your view as an alternative perspective OP should consider, instead of presenting it as fact.

Where do I state it as a fact?

Probably when you use “is” and “will”

Maybe also the generic you? Sometimes it feels a bit imperative like in this occasion.

If you use an electric device like a tablet or smartphone, cover it with a ziplock bag to make waterproof and get ones of those dedicated pen for that electronic device and preferably a pen that doesn’t need batteries. It should be able to take notes this way. Or better yet, forget about the pen, since the device probably has a keyboard, just type it out instead of writing. I had luck watching videos in shower with the ziplock bag but I never tried writing notes in the shower.

    Nothing special.

I have a decent quality paper notebook and a pencil attached to it sitting on a shelf nearby the shower (using a softer pencil than your usual HB/2B, say a 4B or 6B) and I can easily reach out for them whenever I need to jot something down. Not worrying at all about messing the paper with water as its sole purpose is to hold the notes for as long as it takes me to finish showering: it being decent/good quality paper, Clairefontaine in my case, it won’t instantly break apart when faced with water. I simply don’t write under the shower.
