I’m less worried about a “Trump Third Term Run” and more concerned with what kind of Eugene Debbs treatment the opposition party is going to get.

What causes harm for humanity is, people who are clinging on power, money and influence. Dictators, despots, autocrats, wannabes, every f-ing monarch and supposed holy man. You’re all the worst human trash and a disgrace for all of mankind.

He does realize that he will not have the protections of his office during an illegal 3rd term … right?

If he stays in office past his term then everyone that has sworn to uphold the constitution is obligated by oath to remove him by any means as he becomes a domestic threat to the Constitution. This one is a clear and unconditional constitutional dealbreaker.

He’s a threat to the constitution right now.

He’s using the military without congressional approval to blow up South American fishing boats.

He’s deploying federal forces, including military forces, to US cities without a war or suspension of posse comitatus.

Under his orders, ICE has detained thousands of Americans for no reason.

How many threats does he have to pose before the generals say it’s time to stand up and defend the constitution? What mechanism is there that actually allows that?

How many threats does he have to pose before the generals say it’s time to stand up and defend the constitution?

Depends. What’s the ratio of Smedly Butlers to Michael Flynns currently serving in the US Armed Forces?

It’s not like there’s some kind of shortage of arch-conservative military leadership. The Air Force is straight up Christian Nationalist and the Marines are stuffed full of FOX News dweebs. Half the Navy officer’s corps is angling for a booking on the Joe Rogan Podcast to talk about how they were the ones who killed Bin Laden or dropped the bomb on Qasem Soleimani or whatever.

“These corrupt American politicians are out of control, I can’t wait until we get someone like Muammar Gaddafi or Abdel Fattah el-Sisi or Charles de Gaulle in charge” is a real fucking Be-Careful-What-You-Wish-For take.

The problem with “Second Amendment Remedies” is answering the question “Who do you plan to point the gun at?”

Are you getting in a gun fight with the city police or just the sheriff’s deputies? Are you going to form a posse and start lynching anyone on the street with the wrong kind of yard sign? Or is this more of a Brian Thompson / Charlie Kirk situation? Or are we talking the full Stephen Paddock?

Like, its all just bluster. Nobody actually has any idea what an insurrection is supposed to look like in a country full of middle aged Walmart Greeters and Amazon fulfillment center workers ruled over with an iron fist by Ticketmaster VPs and Silicon Valley Tech Bros. Even a hard look at ICE and the National Guard reveals a bunch of overweight, geriatric, sadistic, clueless goons.

It increasingly feels like the little-a kind of anarchy. Nobody’s really in charge. Its just people muddling around, trying to keep their heads down, and hoping the local federally-financed mafia doesn’t rough them up for their lunch money or their life.

To me it’s incredible that there are still people saying “all this will be over in 2028” and “just vote him out in 3 years”. My brothers and sisters in Christ, looking at everything going on you remain so optimistic as to think there will be another election?

… and the dumbest part of that statement is that America has completely normalized it.

He says dumb things, America doesn’t take it seriously, he acts on whatever dumb thing he says, America shrugs their shoulders, he goes on to say even dumber things.

Trump is only half the problem in all this.

Trump’s public statements during his first term were found to be “false or misleading” on average 60% of the time. If you tried to take everything he says seriously, you’d die of exhaustion. Merely taking him at his word is not any kind of solution.

The mind blowing thing is that if, in any other job in America, a majority of things out of someone’s mouth were all about their plans to do highly illegal things that would hurt people, they’d have been hauled off long ago and “It was just a joke, bro!” wouldn’t be a valid defense.

This clown from hell jokes about harming and killing people every day, and follows through with it.

He jokes about breaking fundamental laws every day, and follows through with it.

It’s such a major flaw in our system that there’s seemingly no way to haul him away for repeated failures and egregious criminal harms to the entire country.

He can’t do a third term legally. But he can legally change what is legal. Additionally, he can remain president without a third term, e.g., if the US had an ongoing war, also legally.

I stopped engaging with anyone about this because i just grew too tired and that was back in 2020 before the election. Some kid I went to highschool with that I had recently reconnected with, was posting positive shit about Trump and saying he was just joking about a 3rd term, etc etc, when Trump first hinted at this illegal 3rd term idea. I tried explaining, why is he talking about a 3rd term when he hasn’t even secured his 2nd term, he is dead serious about wanting a 3rd term dude, its obvious and he just couldn’t see it or believe it. Its all a joke, locker talk, etc. The usual.

I have totally given up engaging with these people, maybe other people have the energy to slowly and kindly walk them through to the acceptance phase of who Trump truly is, but I don’t.

        You aren’t helping anything

As opposed to what? Hoping shit just works out for the best if you just click your heels together and wish hard enough?

Grow up. This is the real world. You’re literally watching your country’s constitution be shit on and you can’t even be bothered to care as long as the corporate oligarchs keep you sedated with your shiny toys and your marvel movies.

I guarantee you that anyone who themselves came from a dictatorship or had parents who came from a dictatorship (like my parents) is shaking their fucking heads at how idiotic your pacifist “trust the polls” attitude is, as though Trump hasn’t already got his people running every single part of the election apparatus.
