When i see headlines like this I think its always good to take a look at the stats and historical trends so you have an idea of what’s reasonable and what isnt.
Youth unemployment is currently 10% and over the past 30 years thats the low end. Its generally bounced between 8 and 18. I couldn’t find data pre 90s but 10% doesnt seem that high to me given the trends. Nz has 13%, Germany 6.7, china 19%.
Us has a lot to worry about but blackpilling young people like this is just mean. I dont think AI is having any impact. Its more than likely trumps shit economic policy affecting jobs.
