    Jesus Christ people! … wear safety glasses … that shot hit the top of his head, a couple inches lower and it would have hit his eye … and all this was just random. The shooter just off handedly pointed the gun at the pastor and the pastor was just moving around … if both shot and person had lined up perfectly by chance, the pastor would have lost an eye.

    If one of those non-lethal rounds hits you square in the eye … there’s a high chance you’ll lose that eye. It also looks a ‘pepper round’, a small ball that breaks, explodes and releases irritant pepper. If that ball hits your eye, it damages your eye and now you have irritant pepper stuff in there.

    Don’t just look for regular safety glasses - you need high impact resistant safety glasses (if you get just any old regular safety glasses, they won’t protect your eyes) … get ones with the following rating

    Z87+ ANSI Certified for High Impact (noted the ‘+’ sign … it needs to be there for ‘high impact’ rating)

    This is all insane because I work in construction, building, shops, woodworking and machinery shops all my life. I’m no pro but I do know that every time you step into these places, owners and managers provide the most basic safety equipment because they don’t want to be sued if anything happens … and so many dangerous things can happen when you have high speed things spinning around that can throw metal, glass, wood or heavy plastic around like a shot gun blast.

    Yet, government and officials are willing to expose the general public to these same dangers without so much as a warning or explanation to people to let them know what could happen to them. Fuck this world is devolving fast.

        And if you do decide to take them to a protest or event where you might be in danger but law enforcement might take them away from you or use it as a sign to target you … get the tinted kind (something stylish) so that you can just pass them off as sunglasses.

        Any hardware or tool store will have some. The only place you’d have to worry about getting fakes from are online stores. But even then I’d imagine it’s pretty rare given how cheap the real ones are.

        For months ahead of the election I saw people saying how bad Harris would be for the people of Gaza (obviously Trump is much, much worse for them, which I said at the time). They were saying to not vote, or to throw away your vote on non-viable 3rd-party candidates. Thank you assholes for the rigidity of your defiance. The rest of us live in the real world and know most things aren’t blank and white…

          I think more liberals need to be blamed for being non voters than any leftist. Afterall we’re not achieving anything by blaming and there were 8 million people who voted for Biden who decided not to show up for Harris. That’s more than everybody using lemmy so there’s really no reason to continue this blame game.

      Tiny hands memes and outraged blogposts count as NOTHING.
      ICE did this sort of shit in 2017, and now you let it happen again on turbo and steroids.

      These goons let you know exactly what was on their agenda on January 6, 2021, and still you enabled them completely, as a treat, as a reward. Non-voters gave them the keys to the house, so they can shit on everyone’s bed and kitchen, everywhere BUT the toilet.

      Of course, it’s someone else that suffers, not the non-voting idiots sharing “sleepy Joe” memes and “Bernie would have won” comments.

      Someone else’s young child gets thrown into a cage.
      Someone else get the rubber bullets in the face.

      Yeah, depending on the gun and what it’s chrono’d at, that can absolutely fuck you up. Knowing that ICE isn’t concerned with wasting air or causing bodily harm (and gets off on the cruelty), you know they’ve got everything cranked up to the max.
