I want everyone’s 5 cents on how to spend money in this game. Any tips you’ve noticed on how to spend your money better and maximise value?
- Do I need it right now to beat the next blind?
- Will it pay for itself? (Golden Joker, Business Card, Devil, etc)
- Will I eventually need it for Ante 8? (Jokers you know you will keep for endgame, planets for your most played hand, useful vouchers, deck fixing)
- Am I above the interest cap? (Random packs, mid/low-tier tarots, one reroll)
- Do I have way way way more money than I know what to do with? (Reroll spam)
Remember that the object of the game is not to make the biggest number possible. It’s to reach a set target score. When you know you’re ahead of the curve, you can afford to be stingier until the blinds start catching up to you, passing on temptation to only buy what you truly need.
When starting a run, I try to be really careful about busting packs open until around $25, when your interest caps out. Might make the start a bit slower before you know what deck you’re running, but really helps with keeping up momentum in later antes.
Like minds bruh, I said something similar in [ Art of the one hand ]
Difference being I save up till I find something really worth buying, sometimes I end up spending after the first blind, sometimes till the boss blind.
Also a bit related, I like to think of hands balanced out by interest. So I can forego two hands if I have 10 bucks, 3 at 15, and so on. Point of this is you don’t need to have a powerful build, you instead should go for the best build; so don’t just buy every decent joker you see, once you have an idea work towards fleshing that out.
I’m a bit conservative for the most part, but sometimes I can be a rash spender, just depends on the circumstances.
Edit: I don’t only balance my hands out by interest, if I have a way to make money during a round I can play a dummy hand to rake in profit
Economy is on the tougher side now, had to add a bit on
