This country will be unrecognizable in 3.5 years.

This is what happens when you give conservatives power. This is why you don’t cry over a single issue or decide you just don’t want to get involved with politics and stay home. You adult up and make the decision that’s best for yourself and your fellow citizens.

Americans failed hard at doing that last November.

Our Oligarchs decided they were willing to support fascist. So we got a fascist. We don’t live in a democracy. We live in a dictatorship of the ruling class and the wealthy.

You can blame the wealthy all you want, and they are generally a detriment to our society, but our politics are the way they are because of our populace. Our politics are a reflection of our populace.

If Americans overwhelmingly voted against this, then there’s nothing the oligarchs could have done about it.

        We, as a people, failed.

Ok. But it’s here. We have fascism. Do you think we just vote that out?

Showing up to vote is important to minimizing harm and building out our movements. We know more about what 3rd party voters want than non voters (majority block for several cycles)

Edit: Sorry, I thought you were the person that I responded to. So I took your comment in that context. I probably don’t really disagree with what you said in isolation. But I’m just leaving it now.

So, you think voting will still matter in 2028? At what point of fascist control will you finally pack up and say “well, shit I guess the only thing I did in Nazi America was go to the polls everytime I could. I was definitely resisting fascism by participating it’s entirely fair voting system”

Like, I can understand building working class solidarity around local elections. But if all you’re doing is electoral politics for the next 3.5 years that’s just mental.

Like I said we know more about 3rd party votes and how to appeal to them next time. Voting is lower effort and time committed than protesting. If your movement can’t to that its credibility on bigger level stuff is too low to be a threat

You do realize that would’ve required the Democrats to win every single election until the end of eternity right? Do you seriously think even the next two elections were winnable with the current DNC?

People see elections in a vacuum. This shit has literally been building since our parties joined in neoliberal ideology with Reagan. But they like to see Trump as the cause and not the effect.

It was not a legitimate election. Americans didn’t fail anything beyond letting a dictator be born due to their own lack of political education. But they did not vote for this in reality.
