Language Most Foul taught me about gropecunt lane in London, which shows us not only what people got up to there, but also how the severity of certain words and move over time
Today I learned that Wikipedia is becoming also a curated urban dictionary.
The word for “male chicken” is used as slang for penis across many cultures (sorry for link to the r site but it has the most links in one place)
That is fascinating. How come?
both cocks rise in the morning
First reddit comment makes sense morning wood and the cocks awake same time
I’m pretty sure Shakespeare used it as slang for penis in the 16th century.
Edit: err yeah, says it in the linked Wikipedia article, oops
And “fuck” has been used as slang for sexual intercourse since at least the 15th century. (Before that, it meant something like “to strike”.)
So “I’d hit that” means in 300 years we’ll say hit instead of fuck?
I’m going to start screaming strike when I stub my toe.
Just don’t stub your toe during union meetings, then. Or do? 🤷
Quit yanking my pizzle
fo’ rizzle
Thou shall sucketh me c**k Gertrude
Cringe, dead meme.
