The people who have the resources to do that on a whim are probably the ones who have to worry about Trump’s agenda the least.
I would if that was an easy option but as of yet no one seems to be taking in US “refugees” nor do they have much sympathy for nor want them.

Yeah, the whole no public charges thing I think all countries have will lead to a lot of people with disabilities dying when Medicaid is cut off, if not a repeat of Aktion T4 in the USA. I don’t see a good future for anyone disabled in the USA. The situation is grim, at best.

Just based on the house price to rent ratio (the ratio of house prices to the annual cost of rent), NYC is about 38. Here is an infographic of the house price to rent ratio of various Canadian cities:
As you can see, the cost of housing in NYC is comparable to Toronto and Victoria. Our mortgages don’t have fixed rates though, so every 5 years your mortgage rate goes up (theoretically it could go down, but it generally doesn’t). It makes buying a house a lot more risky even if you can afford it.

I don’t even want to stick around for much longer anyways, but I wanted to at least make sure my mother didn’t have to bury a child before checking out.
