Aside from all the other issues with this, $3 a meal per person is $270-$280 per person per month on food. Many people can’t afford that anyway.
She explicitly said a piece of broccoli so it’s like, one corn tortilla, one bite of chicken, one shoot of broccoli. And the other thing is presumably a single skittle.
It’s their let them eat cake moment.
The poors can eat the bare minimum to survive while our overlords dine on prime steak and champagne!
They should start by serving them in the Congressional cafeteria. Let the senators and house members try it before releasing it on the public.

$300-350 per month per person. This is about $100 more per person per month than we were paying during covid
$3/meal also costs more than what food assistance provides

Counting food only, probably $15 a day, without foil, paper towels, dish soap, only food, but that’s because since it is winter, I tend to stew a little meat (usually chicken) and/or veggies on Sunday and eat that once or twice a day for a week, along with some rice or toast, and only eat a piece of fruit or some trail mix when I work mornings. My biggest expense is 1-2 cups of decent, supposedly ethically sourced, organic coffee, daily, and the occasional piece of salmon or canned tuna.
