No contraceptive is 100% foolproof, so using a backup is always a good thing.

Hormonal contraceptive efficacy is in the 99.8X% range. Using another method on top of it makes a difference so small that it’d be within the margin of error of any attempt to measure it.

This is like saying seat belts aren’t 100% foolproof, so you should always also wear a helmet while driving a car.

And seriously, if the friction is the only thing that make you enjoy sex

    1. Friction is the only way anyone will orgasm, and good luck finding anyone who’d say they’d prefer if they didn’t orgasm during sex.
    2. Seeking pleasurable physical sensation is not equivalent to not enjoying a sexual encounter without it. This is like telling someone who says they prefer pepperoni on their pizza that they don’t actually like pizza, just pepperoni.

Probably not the best example to use. The most common injuries you get in a car crash while wearing a seat belt would be prevented by wearing a helmet. In fact, race car drivers are required to wear a helmet and a neck brace as essential safety gear along with their five point harness.

Haha ya when I read that helmet comment, my first thought was a helmet would definitely help.

You’re never going to convince everyone to wear a helmet when driving though.
