We got a Snow day! All roads closed.

Unfortunately, I WFH on Mondays so, yes, I too am wallowing in sea of dread.

if you dread your job, you should figure out what steps you need to take in order to change that, and then take the first step.

    “impossible/can’t/don’t want to/etc.”

    ok. enjoy work tomorrow

edit: there are many situations in which i very sincerely sympathize with people’s struggles: inherited diseases/disability; living in a warzone; disowned by parents for being (insert literally any reason); among others-- but “i hate my job”-- not so much. yea, changing things isn’t always simple or easy, and sometimes involves great risk, but every day you choose (yes, CHOOSE) to do absolutely nothing (except maybe complain) about the thing making you unhappy is one day closer to your last

My landlord doesn’t provide litter boxes for his cats because he wants them to just go outside where he hasn’t cleaned for years. One of his dogs killed the smaller dog of my roommate. He acts like a fucking animal expert and opines freely to his church youth group, presenting as having his shit together despite never having a full time job in his life.

These takes are always so childish to me. Like the person who writes it clearly isn’t an adult, hasn’t lived in the adult world, or has been privileged with circumstances that allow them to live the entire span of their lives as an ignorant and pompous child. Spoiled by a complete absence of adversary to the point they start to feel a purely delusional sense of mastery over life that needs to be shared.

My landlord can take your vapid, vague advice no problem. In fact it seems like the kind of advice he’d give.

I’m applying other places but also supporting a household on one my one income. Finding another job that pays enough is difficult, especially when combined with having to do numerous rounds of interviews per position

Also there’s no job on earth that would allow me to just be a human being rather than a robot producing value
