Just as a reminder to everyone, if the minimum wage kept up with inflation it would be close to $30/hr (if not higher because of this past fucking year)
I don’t want a living wage
I want a fucking thriving wage.
Arizona—$15.15 an hour California—$16.90 an hour Colorado—$15.16 an hour Connecticut—$16.94 an hour Hawaii—$16 an hour Maine—$15.10 an hour Michigan—$13.73 an hour Minnesota—$11.41 an hour Missouri—$15 an hour Montana—$10.85 an hour Nebraska—$15 an hour New Jersey—$15.92 an hour New York—$16 an hour for the remainder of the state and $17 an hour for NYC, Long Island, and Westchester. Ohio—$11 an hour Rhode Island—$16 an hour South Dakota—$11.85 an hour Vermont—$14.42 an hour Virginia—$12.77 an hour Washington—$17.13 an hour
Dammit, Massachusetts is only $15/hr and no plans to increase. Given our cost of living, we really need to try harder
Any state with a minimum lower than $15/hr is a fucking joke.
Texas at 7.25/hr :((((
Same with Pennsylvania. But I dont know of any jobs that pay that little, nor do I know of anybody that would work a job at that rate. However, i believe it creates psychological leverage benefitting employers holding wages low: “I know we pay $10.25 per hour, but that’s $3 above minimum wage! We pay really well.”
Oof, that’s what I used to make 25 years ago
Its been the federal minimum for longer than that. This place is a joke
Man, thats how much I got while working there (in the US, not Texas) like, 10 years ago. Is that even enough to survive these days?
If you doubled it, no… still not enough to get by.
