Wild to see actual uplifting news in Uplifting News, instead of the usual headlines about things that shouldn’t have to happen in a more sane society.
Up until that last paragraph at least. Not that I’m for minors getting trans surgeries, but they were never getting those surgeries in the first place until they turn 18. So, the fact that they bothered to make a law about it speaks to the rising transphobia in our government on both sides. So, I personally wouldn’t consider it good news. Everything else was really refreshing to read though
Hardly. That’s a minimum that’s still insufficient.
We need to abolish the wage system.
2/3 of the US states still adhere to $7 an hour, so I respectfully disagree.
Though I am on board with raising it further, and tying it to cost-of-living, so employers can’t game the system and ratchet up inflation in response.
$17 * 40h / wk * 52 wk / yr = $35,360/yr. Yikes.
