Just watched #Renfield, thanks @movies for recomendation! It was very fun film, with good action and nice humor.Shame it got bad reception with rating around 6. From now on I will never trust hollow numbers.#movies

    I’m glad you enjoyed it.

    Counterpoint:

An IMDb rating of 6.0 isn’t necessarily bad for a fun, non serious movie.

Comedy above 6 is definitely enjoyable.

I’ve watched stuff in the 5.X range that was good. Even dramas at that rating can be okay, because often they are getting low scores because they’re “too slow” (when it’s actually audience attention span that is the problem). I try to avoid looking at ratings before viewing for this reason, often I enjoy a film more if I go in with zero preconceptions.

I mean. I found it to be alright. Like not the funniest thing ever or anything but not a waste of time watching.

I really enjoyed Renfield and think it’s a solid movie. It is a little all over the place at times but it doesn’t really matter anyway if you follow exactly as overall it’s an easy and fun watch.

Cage and Hoult are so great in this, and it’s a solid take on Dracula. Of course as a classic Universal Monsters fan I’m a little biased.

Typical weak mid-tier thing where it feels like they could have done way more with the premise and cast with a couple more drafts of the script.
