I add a note that appears next to your name to not engage. Don’t need westerners who think that “EU bad, USSR good” to tell me how it was to live in the USSR. Because they didn’t, and I did.

      Now off you f…

Anyone 35+ years or older could have been born in the USSR. So any 55 year old would have lived for at least 20 years in the USSR.

Do you have problems with math? Or did Putin not give you better scripts?

The likelihood of the commenter above being 55+ (in order to have worked a significant amount of time in the USSR) is very small given how we’re in Lemmy. Based on their comments (belonging to post-USSR republic) they’re likely a young Baltic user who grew up mostly in capitalist Europe post-1990, and whose information comes from biased discourse modified by 35 years of anticommunist propaganda, which is extremely prevalent in Baltic countries, together with anti-Russian racism

@[email protected] did I get it right?

You think because you live in Spain, the other end of Europe, you somehow know better what the Baltic people went through during the two Russian occupations than the people actually living there? Grandparents passing down real accounts of atrocities?

Wow. You really are fucking off your head. Brainwashed to the brim with Russian propaganda. Putin’s lackey bot.

Listen my great grandfather in Spain was murdered by the antifascist red terror during the Spanish civil war. You know why? Because he was a fascist. My only moral conflict with this is knowing I have fascist ancestors, glory to the Spanish partisans, and rest 6 feet underground where you belong, fucking fascist ancestors.

You guys claim “EaT tHe RiCh” but cry horror when someone does something about it.

For context: some 30k Estonians were deported to Siberia, compared to 25 million Soviets giving their lives to rid Europe of Nazism. It’s literally a drop in the bucket of the biggest war in human history, and the fact that you’re making such a big fucking deal about Nazi collaborators and capitalist oppressors being deported to Siberia makes me question your own allegiance.

And you know that how? From Russian propaganda.

I’ll take the account of people who live right next to russia and have actually lived through the Russian atrocities, over your fucking who-knows-where-from propaganda bullshit.

It’s so fucking hilarious and ironic you saying that Baltic people have been brainwashed with anti-communist propaganda when you are the one brainwashed with Russian propaganda.

Please take a step back and educate yourself. You look pathetic from the outside, living in your crazy little propaganda bubble.

Just look at how unpopular you are on lemmy if you don’t believe me. But of course, according to you everyone here is brainwashed, aren’t they, and you are the only sane person?

“I’ll take the biased and racist families of repressed fascists over the people who eliminated Nazism in Europe”.

you are the one brainwashed with Russian propaganda

Communist propaganda isn’t Russian propaganda. The current Russian government is cancer and so was the Tsarist empire, but for 70 years, the Bolsheviks managed to make the fairest and most progressive state in human history. Too bad that fake leftists like you will cry about the freedom of Nazis and capitalists when they get necessarily repressed.

You could alternatively get educated, even Wikipedia has some decent information:

Resistance groups were organised by Germans in August 1941 into the Omakaitse (lit. ‘Self-defence’), which had between 34,000[6] and 40,000 members,[7] mainly based on the Kaitseliit, dissolved by the Soviets.[6] Omakaitse was in charge of clearing the German army’s rear of Red Army soldiers, NKVD members, and Communist activists. Within a year its members killed 5,500 Estonian residents.[8] Later, they performed guard duty and fought Soviet partisans flown into Estonia.[8] From among Omakaitse members were recruited Estonian policemen, members of the Estonian Auxiliary Police and officers of the Estonian 20th Waffen-SS Division

Immediately after entering Estonia, the Germans began forming volunteer Estonian units the size of a battalion. By January 1942, six Security Groups (battalions No. 181-186, about 4,000 men) had been formed and were subordinate to the Wehrmacht 18th Army.

Beginning in September 1941, the SS and police command created four Infantry Defence Battalions (No. 37-40) and a reserve and sapper battalion (No. 41-42), which were operationally subordinate to the Wehrmacht. From 1943 they were called Police Battalions, with 3,000 serving in them

These numbers are entirely consistent with the 30k-ish deported to Siberia in Estonia.
