Universal has published documents outlining the bidding process for a potential transportation network linking its new Epic Universe park to the broader Universal Orlando Resort, according to the Orlando Business Journal.

This follows rumours of a collaboration with Elon Musk’s tunnel construction firm, The Boring Company, to develop an underground transit system.

It is weird they built it so far from the other parks I was wondering what the plan was. I guess there was no plan haha. I think there is a reason fl doesn’t already have tunnels.

It would be interesting if they could make it work. I doubt they can

Yeah the low sea level and aquifer have historically nixed any kind of underground stuff here. Same reason very few Floridians have cellars.

The other two parks and resorts they want to connect to are landlocked by other urban development. My guess is Universal built as close as they could with regard to what land was available for the initial new park and future expansion plans.

It’s not unheard of. Houston is pretty similar, as far as water level goes, to Orlando, and it has a massive underground area below downtown.
