I believe there’s alcohol for that.
But this also washes away the brain.
When an invasive thought happens … try to not push it away. Try to say “thank you” and let it pass on.
Obviously this varies and isn’t applicable to all but I’ve been trying this technique with a lot of mine and it’s been helping a bit.

i one up the invasive thought. oh so the next car that drives by will run me over? okay but what if a meteor gets me first??
“what if a meteor gets me first” has been helping me ground myself, it highlights in my mind how most of my intrusive thoughts are just– so unlikely, that worrying about them is completely pointless
I like to imagine I’m sitting by a river and remember that the thoughts are not mine, they are just part of the collective consciousness and flowing by. Not always easy, but this exercise is extremely helpful for me.
