A new poll suggests that 82% Of British people want Israel to be removed from the Eurovision Song Contest.

The country’s continued involvement with the Song Contest is the subject of controversy, with Russia having been removed following its invasion of Ukraine.

The poll was pieced together by Pablo O’Hana, and utilised a survey sample of 1093, done in a nationally representative manner.

A noted Eurovision fan himself, Pablo O’Hana adds: “Eurovision isn’t just about songs and staging – it’s about values. If Israel is permitted to compete, the people of Britain believe we should walk away. The BBC must find its backbone before walking into that meeting today.”

It’s been obvious for a while now that it’s the British Political Class that’s pro-Genocide, not the British Public.

Judging by the shit that’s come out around Epstein, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if it turns out Israel has a ton of Pedophilia-related blackmail material on top Tories and Labour politicians.

It’s been so heartening to see the recent resurrection of the British left wing. Still not out of the dark, but y’all are building some good momentum.

established polling companies in that they were not used for the poll. in a statement they said,

“we are revising our polling techniques after famed pollster guru Pablo O’Hana revealed his ‘pieced together … in a nationally representative manner’ method”

There should be an organized boycott of watching Eurovision and boycotting sponsors (if there isn’t already). Nothing has greater impact in a capitalistic society than hitting them in the pocketbook. Maybe give it a derisive nickname like “Erasurevision” or “Eurodivision” or something to highlight that Eurovision supporters support genocide.

Australian here. IDK much about the feelings of Brits.

How could the populace feel so strongly about this divisive issue, while apparently such strong support for Farage exists, when I presume he would be pro-Israel?

… and seeing that I’m here, I have a bonus question: if Brits generally acknowledge that Brexit was a terrible idea, why isn’t Farage tarnished by his ardent support for it?

Most right-wingers also don’t like Israel anymore. However this usually is paired with heavy antisemitism. See also the rise of Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens in the US.

Support for Farage is in the 30%-40% range (which would likely win him a thumping majority of know-nothing racist incompetent bozos, fruitcakes and loons), and being a far right hate-monger, he and his ardent supporters hate Israel, not because of the destruction of Gaza, but because Israel is Jewish. So yes, they’re Islamophobic and Anti-Semitic at the same time!

this is not true at all. as somebody who unfortunately has had too many conversations with these people, they are staunchly in the pro-israel camp. have you not seen the marches for the UK where they carried israel flags? this is misinformation.

That’s how I understand horseshoe theory - they share some similar views for vastly different reasons.

I think “indistinguishable” might refer to some other phrase.

He’s in the category of racists who claim not to be racist on the grounds that they hate all immigrants equally, irrespective of skin colour or nationality, which would still be horribly racist even if it were true. And it’s not.

A significant portion of the UK government ministers have received donations (Definitely not just legal bribes) from Labour Friends of Israel, so it’s heavily unlikely that they do anything disparaging towards Israel.

It’s the main reason they’re having such a hard time admitting they’re complicit in an ongoing genocide.

Saw the parliamentary session questioning the police chiefs responsible for banning the Tel Aviv away fans to the recent football game. The MPs started the session with declarations of interest.

Chair: I welcome our first witness, on our first panel, in the one-off session that our Committee is holding to investigate the events surrounding the decision to ban away fans at the Aston Villa-Maccabi Tel Aviv game. Before we start, there will be some declarations of interest. I declare that I am an officer and member of the Conservative Friends of Israel.

Jo White: I am a member of Labour Friends of Israel.

Mr Kohler: I have received a donation of £2,000 from the Lib Dem Friends of Israel.

Peter Prinsley: I am a Jewish Labour MP.

Would be a very rare occurrence if so. Like the US, the UK government is notorious for being extremely unrepresentative of the needs and wants of the people regardless of who’s in power.

Not least classics such as zionism, cops, warfare, and education.

This isn’t how the BBC works 😔.

There needs to be a paedophile scandal at the heart of the Eurovision team at the BBC for any action to be taken by the BBC. Until then you’ll get weasel words and continued participation.

They didn’t give a shit about Jimmy Savile raping children until after he was dead. It’s not like they didn’t know.

I’m not sure what it would take for the BBC to do the right thing, but I have a feeling it’s a lot.

I mean, the IOF have been proven to rape their hostages and they abduct a lot of children, so DEFINITELY wouldn’t put child rape past the Beeb’s favorite apartheid occupation force…

Can we be removed from the Eurovision song contest? It’s been crap for years now, it’s never been about the songs which are frankly mostly terrible, it’s an annual political contest.

Most of the time it’s dumb politics. However, the artists are great and I’ve found a lot of hidden gems.

Käärijä at a festival was one of the most fun sets in any festival I’ve been to.

Also, it’s a lot of fun to watch with friends and laugh about all the cringy shit happening.

Funnily enough, I knew Käärija more for this song than the Eurovision one, which admittedly is the only Eurovision song in recent years that I’ve really liked. Not that I hear very many.

It’s like being in a night club when they turn off the music and turn on the lights and you realise you’ve been dancing next to an eight year-old all night.
