The game treats you like shit and treats you as an unhinged edgelord, playing up the eugenics angle instead of the (more rational) “took my job” angle

Not advocating either stance obviously, but I can see why hard right-leaning folk might not feel understood by the game

I mean, the game ruthlessly mocks them in satirical fashion, but fascists have always had poor media literacy so they could still like it similarly to how conservatives thought the Colbert Report was serious.

I’m still disappointed that Stephen Colbert took the DNC’s money and switched parties he was a genius at conservative commentary.

I know, but there are semi-rational arguments the game could have made (market protectionism, cultural heritage, pros of homogenous soceities, etc.) for the fascists and it simply doesn’t

To pretend that all hard right-wingers are just idiots foaming at the mouth, instead of desperate poor people watching their livelihoods and (perhaps warped) values undermined by foreign labour, is really disingenous.

(I should pause here and say I am hard-left, I’m just playing advocate)
