“Everyone gets a computer in their pocket!”

    “Yay!”

“Also, the computer is hooked up to the big machine that injects brain poison into your eye holes.”

“Oh… I guess I’ll just turn the computer off from time to time.”

“If you turn the computer off, your boss fires you.”

And spies on you relentlessly through your pocket with multiple sensors and a constant network connection; don’t forget that.

“I guess I’ll change the system to remove the spyware?”

“Yeah it’s actually going to work totally differently from a PC, and be a lot harder to modify - impossible without refounding the silicon on some models.”

TVs opened the floodgates for unprecedented propaganda way back then too.

the only consistent thing here is our ruling class.

I’ll go further, it was the fucking fashion-ipod bullshit and forced itunes. Where did my mp3s go? “The computer shoved them wherever the fuck it wanted to”

All resistance is futile. Humans always favor the least tiring solution, and that’s always pressing a big button and letting someone or something decide for us. What kind of music we listen to, for example.
