Paramount, Comcast and Netflix have submitted bids to acquire all or part of Warner Bros. Discovery, ushering in a dramatic period of evolution for the media business.
Where is Lina Khan when you need her? (Rhetorical question, I know she’s assisting the Mamdani transition team).
If another corporate behemoth must buy out Warner Bros; could it at least please be Apple? They seem like the only ones who wouldn’t further tarnish the WB legacy.
I grew up watching re-runs of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, The Animaniacs, and Batman: The Animanted Series. Seeing Warner Bros. reduced to what it is now after the Discovery merger hurts my soul, let alone them trying to shelve the Coyote vs. ACME movie!
I absolutely do not want to see these companies further consolidate - which is why I decide Lina Khan’s absence from the FTC; these media conglomerates should be further broken up in order to foster competition.
But in the current Trump-led media circus - I am fully of the belief that the bestbad option would likely be an Apple-led buyout.

The answer is right there, from the same paragraph. Call it nostalgia, if it helps clarify - but there is a sentimental feeling to shows that helped shape my sense of humour while growing up.
I care about WB the company only in-so-far as they are the rights holders to that media, and therefore their ownership will determine whether/how I will be able to continue to enjoy them, new entries (such as Coyote vs. ACME), and introduce them to to my children.
No, no, fuck no.

Why? Why do you care? It’s a company, not a person.

You can download videos. I can teach you what torrenting is.
None of this explains the corporate anthropomorphism.
