In Vexillology (the study of flags), when you change the colour, symbols or any image of a flag, it’s a sign to everyone else that you’ve changed your allegiance from the first flag and now stand with the new flag.

This is the problem with the idea of the Thin Blue Line flag … it shows that they no longer stand with America, it shows they now only stand for themselves and their cop friends and not America.

Flags are important because they convey an idea without words which is important for those people who are illiterate … symbols and flags are easily understood by everyone regardless of their education.

So I think delivery drivers in America would be better served if they flew the flag that they would be most proud to stand by … which is …

Vexillology is not a science that can decide what stuff means to people, though. People waving the “thin blue line” flag are idiots, we don’t need some special science to see that.

I mean you do realize that the flag of America does not stand for as many people as you think it does. And it never has. I haven’t stood for the flag for a very long time as native American because fuck the people that it stands for. I used to be very patriotic and then America proved who it actually is. Now I would never fly that flag anywhere near myself or my property or my vehicles.

the problem is that this flag has become pretty compromised since it is so frequently flown alongside overt fascist symbols and has a long history of being affiliated with covert fascist movements

Proud … Not sure delivery drivers really have much to be proud of under that flag.

Worst “first world” worker protections. Highest healthcare costs. Largest disparity between lowest and highest compensated.

So THAT’S why all the cops have a flag on their uniform: to remind them which people they’re supposed to pretend to serve and protect when they feel like it.
