5-10 minutes of internal groaning and self-pity for having to get up are a must. Everything else is vile torture before I have been up for at least an hour.

Well in addition to getting caffeinated, I always do my stretches bc I tend to sit a lot during work. It’s good to loosen any tight muscles at the start of the day. :)

Feeding the cats is the only consistent thing. 6 a.m. on the dot. They’re my alarm clocks.

Beyond that, I try to get some exercise, piano practice, and voice work in before I have to get ready for work. I shoot for all three (there’s theoretically enough time if I don’t dawdle or go back to sleep), but need to do at least one to feel like I accomplished something that day.

Coffee and at least an hour reading. Coffee wakes me up and reading gets my brain functioning again. I usually wake up 2-3 hours before I have to start getting ready for the day just to have the reading time.

And I’ve been reading every morning long before the article from the ultra rich butthead came out last year.

Coffee or, absent coffee for some reason, tea.

Do not get between me and my caffeine in the AM. Ever.

Gotta splash some water on my face, and put my costume jewelry in. Sunscreen. Unbraid hair from sleepy time. Put on clothes. 4 cups of coffee. Leave.

Shower. My body is so cold I’m the morning due to poor body temperature regulation. If I don’t get a hot shower, even if it’s like 100°F where I slept, I will take forever to get moving.
