So I watched the OG movie which I thought was awesome. Also watched the TV/video movie from 2009 which was OK.

I watched maybe 2-3 seasons of the OG series and I thought it was fine in a “trip of the week” kinda way. Nothing special though, many episodes were below average and the overall narrative arc was subpar. That being said, it’s a solid and entertaining trash sci-fi series.

Have I missed anything? Any recommendations?

This first movie was incredibly good (if you like adventure/sci-fi).

Love the “as long as they don’t make it woke” comment in the link, as if the smartest human on the show (Yeah, I said it, Rodney) wasn’t a woman and one of the most iconic characters wasn’t a black man. If this cast launched today they’d call it woke nonsense.

The article didn’t say if this is a reboot or if it’s set in the same universe as the originals. For myself, I’m very interested in a continuation, but almost completely uninterested in a reboot.

“Twenty years ago, my first real job in television was as a Story Editor on ‘Stargate: Atlantis,'”

That’s awesome, I’m so glad he worked on the best Stargate show and not the bad one.

Seriously though, I hope he keeps true to the original series (and Atlantis) and doesn’t follow the missteps of Stargate universe, we don’t need another Dawson’s creek in space full of teenage angst.

I’d be surprised if this actually eventuates, but if it does I’d be surprised if it was any good.

I’m a huge fan, but the IP has been dead in the water since 2009 despite attempts to revive it.
