        Classic quote but the difference is the implication from the George Carlin quote is that the person that is saying it sees themselves as above the intelligence of the average person, whereas in the quote that I referenced, it implies the person saying it sees themselves as below the intelligence of the average person.

          Oh, I got that. Just figured from what I’ve seen of your work, that you’re still smarter than the average bear despite any personal doubts. This only serves to mark how much worse off we are collectively than we’d like. I know I’m an idiot, but then most people never come to that realization.

    This is my view of humanity as a whole. I’m a complete dumbass, but time and time and time again, I prove to be smarter than so many colleagues, rich, and supposed “intellectuals” that I truly fear for the future of the world.

    It’s not meant at all as a gloat or boast. If I’m smarter than most, humanity is truly and completely fucked beyond imagination.
